Monograms

I am making a wedding order of service and am trying to place the couples
initials plus graphic on the cover. I have put them in separate text boxes so
I can place them where I want them, but they are blocking each other. Do I
need to link them? Is separate text boxes the way to go, or is there a better
way. Thanks Elaine

There may be a "better" way to go, but I was very successful creating
monograms with word art. You can overlay & resize those images and change
fonts until it suits you. Lock them together and you're ready to go. (I speak
from experience on the "lock" part...) you can even resize the lock images as
one image should you need to tweak it a bit.

Best wishes to the couple!

Thanks Kat, that is exactly what I was trying to do! Now I just need to
improve my artistic ability!!

Trust me, it has nothing to do with artistic abaility - it's all in the fonts
.... and the initials. I've had good results from Gaze, Vivaldi, Monotype
Cursova, Matura script capitals, and Fletch extended. I have NO idea where I
picked up some of these fonts, but if you can't find any of these, make sure
all the MS Office fonts are loaded on your system. Look for interesting
capital letters - and some fonts appear with different names and slightly
different letters or sizes (i.e., Vivaldi and Viva). You might try a mix and
match approach to get what you want. You can also try various borders or
flourishes to introduce a bit of elegance or whimsey to your monogram.

Good luck - and enjoy!

If you decide not to use the WordArt and go back to text boxes, select each of
the boxes, click the dog icon (wrap), select none.
