Motion Graphic 2

Aurora

I am using Power Point 2000. This is the 2nd part of the previous question I
asked regarding Motion Graphics. I just figured out that what I wanted is
animation graphics and I have successfully done this on the 4-line graph.
But the animation is in the order that the series is listed. Line series 1,
2, 3, and 4. But now my boss wants it a different way. He wants the
animation to be line series - 4, 2, 3 and then 1. Since I do not have
access to the original excell program to change the series, is there a way to
change the order of the animation on the slide? Can someone please help me
ASAP.

You'll need to ungroup the graph to change the order of animation.

Make a copy of the chart, right-click it and choose Format/Object. On the
Size tab, size it to, oh, 5% x 5%, and drag that off the edge of the slide
so you have it if you need it.

Now ungroup the graph on the slide, select the pieces of one line, and
choose Draw/Group to group those together. Animate that line. Repeat for the
other lines.

thank you for replying, but I do not quite understand what I am to do.
I did the first paragraph OK. Now when you say "ungroup", I was able to
click on one line (series) but where do I go for "Draw/Group"?

Click the word "draw" on the Drawing toolbar (usually it's at the bottom of
your screen). From there, choose "ungroup" to ungroup items. To group items,
click Draw and choose Group. You'll need to have more than one object
selected in order to use the Group options.

I did that. But the whole graph is selected with all of these points. How
do I figure out which point or Points control the line. I have been
guessing, but I am not a very good guesser. I am hitting every point except
the line that I want. Any suggestions?

Did you ungroup the graph?

You might want tu use the layer manager from RnR tools. It's on the PPT2HTML
toolbar because it's part of the accessibility options offered in PPT2HTML.
But it's in the free part, so you don't have to purchase the tool. Just
download the demo and install it.

http://www.rdpslides.com/pptools/ppt2html/FAQ00009.htm After you install
PPT2HTML, click on the "Accessibility Assistant" (the icon looks like a
piece of paper and a pencil) and set everything to invisible. Then change
one thing at at time (or a few things at a time) back to visible until you
find what you're looking for. You can add descriptions in the "alt text"
area if you want.

Alternatively, just drag your mouse over the points you're trying to select.
Hold down your Shift key and click to deselect any extraneous pieces you may
have grabbed. This may or may not work, depending on your chart and the
other stuff on your slide.

Also, is it clear that you need to ungroup the whole graph and then create a
group out of the individual segments of each of the lines? The reason you
want to do this is to create groups you can animate in any order.
