Move Office from one pc to another

G

Guest

I have 2 pc's, both running Windows XP Pro.

PC #1 has Office 2003.
PC #2 has Office 2002. The user at PC #2 needs to have
Office 2003.

How should I go about uninstalling, re-loading, etc. to
accomplish this? What must I do to get the Microsoft
registrations in the right place so both pc's run the
programs ok?

Thanks!
Jim

If you wish to add Office2003 for a second user, on a second PC you need to
buy another copy of O2003, though since it has O2002 you could buy an
upgrade version.
You would need to keep O2002 cd's as they become part of yr Licence for
O2003

I would like to just switch the 2002 and the 2003 versions to the opposite
computer that they are on now.

Run the Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard on the computer with
Office 2003.
To do this, click Start.
Point to Programs (or All Programs).
Point to Microsoft Office.
Point to Microsoft Office Tools.
Click on Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard.
Choose "Save the settings from this machine".
Follow any additional prompts and save the file to a removable disk (such as
a floppy disk or one of those pocket/key chain USB drives).

Exit ALL Microsoft Office 2003 Applications/Programs.
Uninstall Microsoft Office 2003 in via the Add/Remove Programs Control Panel
To do this, click Start.
Point to Settings.
Click on (or point to) Control Panel.
Double-click (or single-click) on Add/Remove Programs.
Find Microsoft Office ____ Edition 2003 and click on it.
Click on Remove.

Repeat these steps for Microsoft Office XP (2002).

Using the Microsoft Office XP (2002) and Microsoft Office 2003 CDs, install
your Office Applications/Programs on the opposite computers you just
uninstalled them from.

You will need to re-run Product Activation. This time, choose activate by
telephone (instead of Internet) and explain to Microsoft the reason for this
install switch.

When you are done and you have installed Microsoft Office 2003 again, you
can restore your settings from your other computer using the steps I have
provided above. Be sure to choose "Restore previously saved settings to this
machine" when you run the Microsoft Office 2003 Save My Settings Wizard
again.

NOTE: I do not know if Microsoft Office XP (2002) has a Save My Settings
Wizard tool.
