Movement of tasks

[RVW]

I am tracking multiple projects with PWA, when a resource
is assigned to more than one project I have problems with
the tasks moving around. (i.e. when both project files
are open the program realizes that there may be large
gaps between tasks of a project. However if only one
project file is open, the program moves the tasks to
start one after another.) is there a way to fix this
problem? thanks for your time.

This is the expected behavior. What exactly do you perceive as a problem
here? What do you want to happen?

I would like the project file to stay "leveled" when the
other project file is closed

Try setting leveling to manual. Tools > Leveling select the manual radio
button.
