moving read email to folders

I've created several folders (by topic) for saving email. When I move files into these folders, something odd happens. Some successfully transfer others don't. Some folders remain empty after I transfer a file into them, yet I created these folders the same way. Any ideas?

Check that the folders are not set to view unread messages only -
View-Current View.
