MS Office 2003 Installation

I'm trying to install MS office 2003 on my lap top PC. I get a message that
terminates the program because a "previous MS service pack was incomplete".
How do I fix this so I can install MS 03? I am running XP Prof. windows and
XP office. Thanks!!
