I have frontpage 2003 that i purchased at the store.
got a new computer with xp pro and MS Office 2007.
tried to install fp 2003 on new computer, it would not let me.
after entering product key:
The product key you entered requires a version of ms ofc 97, 2000 or xp to
upgrade....

must be someway of making this work.

Firstly you are advised to install the earlier component first ie before any
later version of Office.
Secondly if its an upgrade it requires the same or earlier version of office
to install.

You have a FrontPage upgrade. To be able to install it, you need a
qualifying product. There's no way around it. You need:
- Microsoft FrontPage: FrontPage version 2002, FrontPage 2000, FrontPage
98, FrontPage 97
- Microsoft Office XP: Office XP Developer, Office XP Professional with
FrontPage, Office XP Professional Special Edition
- Microsoft Office 2000: Office 2000 Developer, Office 2000 Premium

Please note: Office 2007 is not a qualifying product - you can't make
provisions for a future product.

And, what feature would it be trying to install? What is the exact
error/message that you get? Won't let you update to what?

To avoid this issue you would need to install Office 2007 and then Front Page 2003.

To solve this issue uninstall both Office 2007 and Front Page 2003 and then do the
above
