After a problem with my computing crashing I now find that when I go to open
a MS application that the auto installer appears and wants to find me to
insert the CD for the app. But when I cancel that the application, such as
Excel, opens anyhow. Any suggestion son how to resolve this problem would be
most gratefully received.

The quickest way I have found is to give that particular person temporary
administrative rights, have them open the applications they are having
problems with, log out, change them back to plain old user rights and
everything should be ok.

Thanks, I had a look at that. Actually I have Office Professional 2003. I
tried the language settings change but that did not work. And I hesitated to
edit the registry as I couldn't find the specific files listed in the
instructions. I'm going to get my hardware seller to add some more RAM so
I've asked his engineer to take a look at the same time. Thanks.
