MS Office to new computer.....

Bought a new computer. I want to transfer my MS Office 2000 from the
old to the new computer.-I tried using the original installation disc but it
says words to the effect; - It is noticed that you have the program
activated on another computer.....etc. It won't let me install.
There must be some way to transfer the activation from a copy on one
computer to another. Can you show me the way?
I would appreciate it. Thanks.

1) if the software came with your computer (is OEM version) you are out of
luck
2) if you have a retail version, phone MS for activation (search on
www.microsoft.com
