I have MS Office X and considering purchasing Office 2008 Home and Student edition. Should I? and what should I be concerned about when making the switch? Thank you for your advice.

Office X is end of life software, so making the change is a good one.

When installing you want a good base. The size and health of your hard drive
also has to be considered. If you could provide more info we could advise
you on the best options. I have found many Office X users have not done any
radical clean up in a while and their drives are often very full.

As far as your emails are concerned, the importer should move your data
over, but some users are finding that they will have to manually move the
data over. The most important thing you can do is make a backup before doing
anything.

Announced just today the first updater for Office 2008 is coming out March
11.
