MS Outlook 2003 - Slow to open e-mail

I recently uninstalled Panda Antivirus and installed AVG antivirus. Outlook
has been slow to open e-mails ever since. It starts up nornally and will
download new messages without a problem but when I open the e-mails it can
take up to a minute to open and sometimes freeze if I try to open an
attachment or forward the e-mail. I have scanned for a virus as well as
spyware. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003. I have run scanpst
as well as detect and repair. I have uninstalled AVG and reinstalled trying
Outlook both with and without this. I am running XP sp2.
Thanks in advance for any assistance offered on this matter.

Hi rick,
You should never install 2 antivirus software on your system, thi
causes unusual problems.. due to various reasons, if you have a syste
running low on memory (my best guess) yuou will have problems openin
your emails as this anti-virus software take upto 50% of your syste
resouces @ the same time.

Try to disable anti-virus software on your system completely an
perform this email operations once again

Hi Robert,
I am noy running 2 antivirus. I uninstalled one before installing the
other. I have since uninstalled AVG and tried Outlook without any antivirus
installed and still have the same problem. The symptoms appear to me as if
it is a memory problem but the only app. that appears to be affected is MS
Office. I have run a mtinst and it did not show any memory problems. Is
there a way I can check and see if the ram is faulty. The system information
is still showing the 324 mb ram that is installed.

Thx,
Rick
