ms project 2003 calendar view is not the project calendar?

Hello, not sure if this is just a misunderstanding or what.

I changed the project calendar to be a new one (in the Project information
as well) but the Calendar "view" is still displaying the base calendar?
Am I missing an option?
I did change the base calendar working time to confirm that it is the one
that displays?

Thanks!

Hi JSAB83,

I'm not sure I understand fully your question, but I am assuming you are
seeing the non-working time (Gray shade) from the Standard calendar in the
Calendar view, not the non-working time from your project calendar?

Click in the background of the calendar view and choose Timescale from the
shortcut menu. Click the Date Shading tab and confirm that it is showing the
working time for your Project calendar. You can also modify the colors of
the working and nonworking days in that dialog box.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

try this
go to Gant Chart View -> Where the Bars and dates are displayed Right Click
on the top part of the Gant Chart view ->Time Scale ->Non Working time -> and
select the required calander
Hope this helps

Thank You both.

I did some more digging and if you do not build the "new" project calendar
as a Base calendar (e.g. build it based on a copy of ...) then it does not
display. If you build it as a Base calendar it does display. It seems to
become the primary display calendar regardless of whether you have assigned
it to the project you are displaying.

So it seems that there is a disconnect between the 'project calendar' and
the one that displays in the calendar view... Still not sure if that is worth
reporting to MS, but it is confusing when you are working with it so it does
rate an honorable mention.

The working time changes are applied to the schedule, it is just the
calendar view of the data that is 'off'

Again Thanks!!

Hi JSAB83,

You are most welcome. I understand your quandry completely. The display of
non-working time from calendars other than "Standard" in the Gantt chart view
has been around forever! As you note, the calculation of dates is correct,
it's just the display that odd.
