ms project 2003 crashes at startup

I have installed ms project on my lap top and every time i open the
software it crashes. i have tried to install service pack 1 and 2
with no luck. it does the same thing. I have installed the program
on another machine and it installs fine. i had noticed that after i
put on the second machine when i open it, the program did an
activation process. it did not do that on the first machine. could
that by whats causing it to crash? if so any idea on how to fix it?

Project must be activated before it will function fully. You normally
have a set number of days to "trial" the software but eventually it must
be activated. Remember, activation is not the same as registration -
Registration is optional, activation is not. You also need to make sure
you have a separate authentic copy of Project for each PC. As I recall
the EULA provides for one backup but it does not allow installation on
multiple PCs, but read the EULA for exact details.

At the onset, delaying activation should not cause Project to crash. I
suspect something else is wrong with your PC. Does everything else work
OK? Are you installing a full version or an upgrade? Have you run some
type of PC maintenance application (e.g. Symantec SystemWorks)?
