MS Project 2007

VIGGO

I have just loaded MS Project 2007. I want to set priorities for all the
projects I have before I link them into the resource pool. In the “Project
Information†Dial box there is suppose to be a priority box I can select and
enter a number from 0-1000 depending on my project priority according to the
help menu, but it is not there???

Second question,
Is there any way I can set MS Project up to give me a warning in “terms of a
dial box†when I try to use resources that are already allocated 100%?

Hi
For Priority
Make sure you are using Project Professional 2007 and it is connected to
Project Server.
You will not get to see priority if it is Project Standard version.

For resource overallocatoin
If you are using a resource which is over allocated project will not give
you any dialog box however it will give you yellow color exclamation mark in
Resource Sheet indicators column.
So after looking at that mark you can take approriate actions

Hope this helps

Hi,

I do't have 2007 standard installed but all older standard versions did have
project priority because you can use normal resource pools to level
multiple propjects (IMHO simpler than through Server!)

Hi Viggo,

In my installation of Project Standard 2007, Project/Project Information...
dialog does have a box to select Priority 1 to 999. Have you tried it with
a new project?

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
