Naim Yaakub

In MS Project (Calendar View), is there a way of identifying different human
resource using different colors? I'd like to use it for easy monitoring of
employees. I'd appreciate anyone helping me how to do this. Thanks.

Hi Naim,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Ther's no easy way to do this. You could colour each one, but this could be
very time consum.ng It might be possible via vba - try posting on the
developer newsgroup. Please see FAQ Item: 24. Project Newsgroups. FAQs,
companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at this
web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

I know someone will make a joke out this :) but jokes aside, If
different people are denoted with different colors, i.e. on paper or computer
screen, it increases the ability to compare progress of work....more
"eye-friendly".

Thanks Mike,
But is it not useful to have this feature built in MS Project?....or maybe
I'm the only one needing it.... :(

Hi Naim,

I don't know the thinking behind the Calendar view, but I believe most
project managers work from the traditional Gantt charts. The Calendar view
is a useful facility for communication, but is does lack much ability to
change its presentation. The Calendar view is probably best used as a
facility for an individual resource, as you can filter it for a particular
person and apply his personal calendar before printing it out.
