MS Project crashes when using Auto Filter

George

I’ve read all the topics here and not sure if this solves my issue (which
sounds similar) or not. I have a user that has a HP laptop running Windows XP
with SP2. He also has Office 2003 Professional and Project 2003 installed.

Project opens fine; but if you click on the Auto Filter button, then on any
of the tabs it inserts, the program crashes. I tried looking at the error
report that is being submitted to Microsoft, but could not find an error code
there (maybe I just don’t know where to look).

When viewing the last 4 documents opened, it shows that the last one opened
was a Project 98 file; and user states that he no longer has access to that
project. Searches for the fix on Microsoft website shows fixes for everything
but Project 2003.

Is this the same issue as mentioned here or something completely different?
If different, does anyone know how to resolve this issue?

Thanks

Hi.
I had the same problem in an HP Compaq nc6320 laptop.
Does your laptop have HP Credential Manager installed? If so, try Logging
Off Credential Manager and try again to use Autofilter. It should work.
Other solution is to uninstall HP Credential Manager.

The laptop is a Compaq nw8440. I believe it does have HP Cred Mgr installed.
How would I disable or uninstall this feature?

Thanks

George,
You can find it, if installed, in the Add/Remove Programs list. Also you may
find the
icon of the HP ProtectTools in the Systray, where you can Log Off the HP
Credential Manager.

Regards.
