MS Publisher 2000 - Application Error

I now receive an error that states "The instruction at "0x77fccdee"
referenced memory at "0xfffffff8". The memory could not be "read". This
error occurs everytime I try to use MS Publisher 2000.

All drivers installed are current. All possible Windows updates and Office
updates have been downloaded and installed.

This pc is a Pentium 4 with 2.8 GHz processor and 256MB ram. My video card
is an Nvidia GEForce 4 MX440 with AGP8X. My OE is Windows 2000.

Please advise.
