MSO 2003 - Excel saves new buttons on toolbars but Word does not

Done by the book! it fails again and again.
- Excel accepts and saves new buttons when I drug them on the toolbars.
Word, though it accepts new buttons it does not save changes on exit.
- The same also happens when I try to customise the normal template of Word
(font type and size, text alignment, etc).
- Any suggestion?

Is Adobe Acrobat 7.0 installed on the computer? If so, the Acrobat 7.0
Create Adobe PDF toolbar add-in for Word prevents Word from automatically
saving changes to the normal.dot template (which is where toolbar
customizations are stored). Customize the Word toolbar again, and click
"Shift+File | Save All" to force Word to save the normal.dot template.
Alternatively, you can prevent the add-in from loading as described in the
last section of http://www.gmayor.com/lose_that_adobe_acrobat_toolbar.htm ,
but you'll lose the PDF toolbar if you do this.

Thank you so much you for your prompt response. I could not even dream that
Acrobat 7.0 is responsible for the problem.
Problem resolved!
Thank you once again.
