multiple email downloads

my outlook continues to down load messages previously downloaded and read.I
have tried everything I know to stop this, including deleting message off
server when it has been downloaded. Any help gratefully received.

So, even deleted messages get re-downloaded? Have you checked the server
mailbox with a web mail interface (possibly your ISP has one - many do now)

yes I have checked providers mail server and the mail is not on there!

Very wierd... does the download show progress as if it's actually
downloading these duplicates?

There's simply no way a message can get downloaded that has been deleted
from the server. Obviously you're not really examining the same message
store Outlook is examining. I'll bet your ISP uses MailMan for a web
interface.

Yes it goes through the motion of recovering and down loading the mail as
normal.

I have outlook at the office and can download fine no duplicates , it is
only when I connect from home that this occurs. It just seems to be on this
computer. I have updated outlook on Microsoft's site to no avail.
