First of all, the global file shouldn't be on your desktop. It normally
resides in the Application data folder buried several levels down in the
C: drive. There could be many reasons why you have more than one global.
Some users, like myself, have multiple versions of Project installed
simultaneously. There is a global for each one. There is also normally a
backup global, again buried several levels down, to use in case your
working global gets corrupted. And there is always the possibility an
inactive global remains as the result of an incomplete uninstall.
So depending on your setup, yes there may be more than one global.
