multiple masters

Tom Whitmore

Hi,

I use PP for lectures and typically have slides with bulleted lists and
some with jpg images (from my own images), and some with others' images. I
have made a master that has a copyright note on it for my buleted list but
would like one for my own image slides as well.

I took a standard master (a blue textured one) and opened the view master
and added the text I wanted and saved the result with a new name (as a pot
file). Ok, when I go to use that new master I get a message saying that
the master I have choosen has multiple parts and PP has applied the first
one - the unmodified blue textured slide. If I look at the master view I
see that the 2 masters are linked.

How do I break this klink or get my new master to work?

Thanks in advance for help

I'm not positive I'm following here, but I think you're seeing the title
master linked to the slide master.

Slide Masters can exist without a Title Master, but Title Masters cannot
exist without a Slide Master. The usual situation is that you'll see the two
masters in pairs: a Slide Master with a linked Title Master.

I would just add your text to both the slide and title masters and not worry
about it. Title Masters are what PPT follows when you apply a Title Slide
layout to a slide (Format/Slide Layout, choose Title Slide). Slide Masters
are followed for all other slide layouts.
