Multiple Office Versions on one PC problem HELP

I need to run office 2000 and office 2003 on the same PC. I understand I am
supposed to see a small "installing step" when using the various legacy apps,
but I am running into the following issue:

Office 2000 was installed from a secure network share. When it runs through
this install step to prepare it for use it wants to refer back to data1.msi
from the original installtion point. When joe user tries to use it they get
an error because they do not have rights to this secure software share on the
network. Office 2003 apps have no issue because the sources are left local.

Anyway to make the office 2000 suite happy for the average end user without
getting the "preparing to install" error on launching the app?

You can try copying the data1.msi to the local drive into a temp folder and
then point to that folder when the window pops up for the location.
