Music database for CD/LP's

Ceilidh

How can I set up a music database for my collection of classical CD/LP's
which is searchable and can be sorted alphabetically? I need about four
columns.
I have Word 2003 and Excel 2003.

Music collections are best tracked in Access but Excel will do in a pinch.
Depending on the attributes you assign to columns, you can sort your
collection in several useful ways. I see about 8 columns myself.

Hello Milly

Thanks for your reply. Can I purchase Access on its own?

I can't answer that; just don't know.

But Access might be overkill for what you're trying to do. There are some much
simpler programs available for less money that might do quite nicely, and w/o
quite the learning curve.

I maintain a 3000-name mailing list and track members/volunteers for a
non-profit using MyMailingList Pro. It's a flexible little database with a
bunch of mailing/emailing related features built in. The same company
(Avanquest) has a plain database for $40 or so.

If you choose to purchase Access 2007 standalone, your Office 2003 qualifies
for the Access upgrade version. Check here:
