Possibly, your preferences were changed in My Day. If you open My Day
and go to the My Day menu --> Preferences... then do you see these items
selected for display?

Very possible.

Look inside your home folder and go to Library/Preferences. You should
see "com.microsoft.myday.plist". Delete this. It won't delete any
information.

Hope this helps!

No dice. Deleted the one myday.plist in the identity folder as well. it recreated both fine but still no flagged messages. I think the 12.1.9 update hosed it. it was working fine till then. arg.

Do you have a backup copy on Time Machine or another backup? If yes, simply
drag the Office for Mac folder back.

I recommend zipping this folder before any update in case you need to
revert. Otherwise you have to use "Remove Office" and start over from the
initial install.

Before you do that, let's do some tests.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

1) Drag your Main Identity to the Shared folder

"/Users/Shared"

2) Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching.
3) In the new User, open Entourage and let it create a Microsoft User Data
folder.
4) Drag from Shared (it actually copies) you Identity and replace the blank
Main Identity
5) Open Entourage

Does the problem go away? If yes, then your Office install is OK and the
problem is in your User's folder. Test Entourage in a new Identity. This
would eliminate your database as the problem.
