My first slide will not transition by itself?

I have made a PowerPoint presentation and I am having problems with the first
slide. I set up all of the transitions, and they all work except for the
first slide. The first slide will not transition the second slide unless I
select the "Advance Slide by mouse click" option. How do I fix this?

Have you tried setting it to advance automatically after XX seconds? What else
is on the slide? Is something set to animate, but isn't getting triggered?
