my fonts are gone how do I get them back

I turned on my computer and every font on IE office mail everything has
changed to symbols I have no fonts at all. what happened? nothing is in
english something has rewrite everything. help!!

hi bob and thanks for your help my problem is that everything on my computer
every font is gone I can't understand anything all english words are now
symbols. stars and ? marks and other symbols has replaced everything. is
there a patch or something that can help? does microsoft have an update
because going to update page doesn't help.
