My prompt is "Access is Denied Files are Read Only How can I save

Dear Friends:
I have an abundance of P.P. Files that I want to save I cannot access them
nor can I open them to view them. How can I change the attributes of these
files so as to save them or view them? I cannot E mail my files also because
I get Access Denied prompt.

My P.P. Files are just on my Hard Drive (HD) and are not usable at all.
