I have rewritable discs that won't let me save my documents when I make
changes because they are "read-only", how can I change this?

Never save directly to removable media. Nor should you open a file directly
from removable media. Always copy or move from your hard drive using Windows
Explorer.

It's something I didn't learn until visiting the newsgroups. Too bad I
didn't know that back in the 90's. I now understand why we had so many
corrupted files on floppies. We wrote it off on deteriorating disks.
