My text changed to boxes, but it says font it still "Times New Ro.

Somehow, in saving a document, all my words changed to boxes, so it looks
like I wrote in one of the symbol fonts, but the font changer/thing says my
text is still in Times New Roman, and when I change it to another font, say
Arial, the boxes don't change back to words! How do I get my words back!
