name change

I was married recently, so my last name changed.

I haven't used my PowerPoint program since before I was
married; so, now, when I use PowerPoint, it lists my
maiden name as "author."

I don't know if my maiden name is there because that is
the name I used when I originally registered my MicroSoft
software, or if, at some time, I entered that name in
PowerPoint as the default author.

At any rate, I don't know how to go about changing the
name.

Go under file - properties - summery tab, you can change
the name there

Try Tools | Options | General tab.
Enter your name under 'User Information'
