Navigate back to root index?

From the root index I link to a sub_site folder to allow the
view to view the video.
I want to allow them to cancel and go back to the root
index.

When I link to it, it simple opens up another index page.
Now I have to open. I simply
want to give them a chance to cancel or return to the root
index.

How do I do that? I don't want them to use the "X". I want
to guide them.

Unless the video open in page where you can insert a link back to a page the user will have to click
on the "X".

It does open. The video is on it's own page and opens
automatic. But I can't seem to code
the "Return" link to the root without it opening the root
again. I guess I'll have to direct them to the X.

Is the video opening in a new browser window? If so, then you have to have the user use the X
