Need a custom Calendar with no weekend days

I need to design a project that has tasks beginning 4 workdays before the end
of the month and ending 4 workdays from the beginning of the next month (eg.
starts Feb 23 as Day - 4 and ends Mar 4 as Day + 4). I can get the TimeScale
to show days as Day-# or Day +# but it always includes Saturday and Sunday,
so Feb 23 is Day-6 instead of Day-4. Is there anyway to exclude Saturday and
Sundary from the TimeScale?

Sharon,
Sorry, no, and unfortunately the only alternative I can suggest is to
export the data to Excel where formatting is more flexible.

Thanks John - that's what I thought the answer would be. Now the issue is
how to automate an Excel calendar so it can identify the weekdays Day -4
through Day+4. I'm better at Excel so should be able to work that out.

Sharon,
You're welcome. I personally would use VBA code to export the Project
data to Excel for formatting and then include all the formatting right
in the code, but you could also use an export map. An export map is
defined by going to Save As and then selecting an "Microsoft Excel
Workbook" as the "Save as type".

Will the ability to remove sat and sun from the display be addressed in new
versions? It seems like a real flaw..

kimm,
Well, as I recall, Project 2007 works the same way and it is the latest
release of Project. Project developers may at some point incorporate a
feature to allow weekends (and other non-working time) to not appear on
the Gantt display but I kind of doubt it. It is a fringe feature that
most users don't really care about - a "nice to have" type of thing.
Consider this, every standard calendar I have ever seen whether hanging
on my wall at home or posted on the wall at a workplace, will show
weekends. Why? Because they are part of life and their appearance even
on a working schedule helps to put things in perspective.
