Working a non-working day

The project I am working on requires travel on a saturday, and go-live on a
Sunday.
The only way to force project 2007 to accept this is make the task - Must
End on the saturday. This is fine as long as the project does not split in
time. How do I do this without imposing this criteria. (Sat and Sun normally
a non-working day).

Also I have a training course running from tues to Sat (5 days) - must end
on Sat on task - but I have to show the task as running as 4 days to make the
ghannt chart look correct - as If I leave as 5 days it schedules in the
Monday?

Help please

Hi Burnley,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

Task calendars is a way to go. Create a new calendar with Saturdays as the
only working days, double click the task for travel and in the Task
Information dialog, enter the Saturday calendar. Another calendar for
Sundays only which you then assign to the go live milestone. For your
training course, make a calendar for Tues to Sats and assign likewise.

FAQs, companion products and other useful Project information can be seen at
this web address: http://project.mvps.org/faqs.htm

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)

You are quite correct - I have created a weekend working calendar - modified
the tasks and its now working correctly.
Thanks for your advice - appreciated
