Need a table type shape in Visio with editable cells in the grid p

I need to draw a components diagram for a system.

Ideally, I would like to have a grid in each 'box' to show a table of
information about each component.

I need it to be a grid so that the info is structured, I don't just want
free text.

Can anyone help please?

Thanks

Hi Eamonn,

Two ideas:

1. When you are in text-edit mode, (hit F2, or just start typing), you can
right-click and turn on the Text Ruler. This gives you the ability to insert
tabs, just like in Word.

2. Make separate rectangles (to hold each column of text) Line them up,
select them all, and group them together. (Ctrl+U, or Shape > Grouping >
Group) You can sub-select the individual columns by select the group, then
clicking on a sub-shape. Press F2 to edit the text without overwriting it.

Don't forget for easy typing in your cell that you can turn behavior
selection of the group to "submember first".
