No need to ask more than once. Change your Contacts view to the By Category
view. Select those Contacts you wish to change and drag them to the new
category.

Thanks, so simple...I've done that but now however by dragging them to the
new category they exist in both categories! is there a way to remove them all
at one time from the original category?

oops, sorry about my duplicate, it was a mistake and I realize now you
cannot remove a post!

Group by category, select the contacts in the group and right click. Choose
categories and make the changes that way.

You can if you use a newsreader and not the web interface.

so I've tried that, however once I make the changes in the categories window
box and click OK, a window pops up saying "An exception of type 'Runtime
Error' was not handled. Would you like to debug the application" when I
click No then my change is not accepted and if I click Yes a Microsoft
Development Environment [run]window pops up and ontop of that one another
window that says "An exception of type 'Microsoft VBScript runtime error:
Object required 'objPage' was not handled"

I am running off of a downloaded 'Category Contact Form' so I'm thinking
that is what all the above mentioned errors and windows relate to and I have
no idea what they mean???

That error is definitely unexpected. I'll see if I can repro - is the
category form from Microsoft's site?

One of the other MVPs uses the form extensively at work and it works fine,
so there is something else contributing to the problem.

hmmm...because the error mentions specifically the 'obj Page' was not handled
in the script, then would you be able to suggest a site or something that I
can go to to, try to find out more about scripts and objects and hopefully I
can try to understand what is not being handled properly? As this is a real
problem I have over 700 contacts in a specific category that I need to change
and to do it individually seems unnecessarily time consuming, and I'm afraid
I may be overlooking something that hopefully is fairly simple to fix,
especially sincy you mentioned someone else can do this with the same form
and has no problem with the 'obj Page'!
