Need macro to track number of new students being enrolled per mont

Im new to Excel and currently working on a spreadsheet to track the number of
students that are enrolled in our school per month. I already have a
database which lists the enrollment dates for each student and need to know
how to make a macro that will take each date in that column, determine which
month it falls in and add it to other like dates for a total by month? Is
that possible?

I'm confused. Is this an Excel question or an Access database question? If
Excel, this is an Access forum. If Access, we need more to work on like
examples of existing data and what you want it to look like. Table and field
names would be a bonus.
