NEED TO REINSTALL OFFICE ASSISTANT

J

Jacquie Smith

When open Word or select Office Assistant from WORD
toolbar, I get an error message, "There was a problem
starting the Office Assisant. Would you like to try
reinstalling it?" I do not have the discs to re-install.
The Dell computer came with Microsoft Office already
installed. When I go to the Microsoft support website, I
am able to download Office Assistant files, but they do
not install to the system. I am not sure which directory
they should be in.

F.Y.I. my normal.dot file was corrupted last night and I
could not re-open Word 2000 until I received help from
this newsgroup. I created a new normal.dot file and
followed these instructions was able to re-open Word 2000.
I clicked the START button, selected RUN and typed
winword.exe /a. I made sure to have a space before the
forward slash. Please help me. How can I reinstall the
Office Assistant. Thank you kindly for your attention to
this request.
