I'm experienceing the "network password" pop-up in Outlook 2002 when I
click the Send/Recieve button. In the office [this is a business] I
have 2 Dell Precision 360 desktop computers, both running Windows XP
w/ Outlook 2002, and 4 email accounts. Here's what happens to me when
I click the Send/Recieve button in excruciating detail:
After I click the "Send/Recieve" button, the Send/Recieve Email box
comes up, then after a few seconds, 4 pop-ups come up with the title
"Enter Network Password." Each pop-up has boxes for server, username,
and password, with a "save password" checkbox at the bottom. The
pop-ups already display all the needed information for each account,
including the varied usernames and passwords. [All the accounts have
the same server.] When I click okay, the pop-ups come back, and I
can't send or recieve any email from any of the accounts! This is a
big problem because the business depends greatly on email!
Here's what I've tried already:
1) I've tried checking the "save password" checkbox and clicking "OK,"
but the pop-ups still come back.
2) I've tried just pressing "cancel" and the pop-ups still come back.
3) I've tried deleting all the accounts and resetting them up. The
pop-ups still come back.
4) I've tried modifying the registry as directed in the Microsoft
KnowlegeBase Article #290684 and #264672. The pop-ups still come back!
5) I've posted on the Dell Support Boards, and they suggested I post
here.
6) I've tried calling Dell Tech Support but they want to charge me $39
to tell me how to fix the problem. I really want to avoid paying for
this phone support, but if I have to I will resort to it.
Please, if ANYONE out there can help me, I will be forever thankful.
This is a very big problem and it's hurting the business because alot
of our processes revolve around email!
