NEW blank document

I recently bought and installed office 2008 for my macbook. When I open a new
blank document with microsoftword, what comes up is an old document that I
created earlier with the test drive. How can I open a new BLANK document?

On the assumtion the MAC version is the same as Win version, which this
group supports, search for and delete all instances of normal.dot
