New Computer...old CD...is it possible?

I am a sophomore in college, and I bought the Microsoft Office XP Standard
edition for students and teachers...my mother is a kindergarten teacher, so I
figured the product suited us. =] Anyway. I used the CDs provided and
uploaded the program onto my computer fine. However, after activating the
product and using it for about a month and my computer crashed. It wasn't the
Office program's fault. The computer was VERY old and just worn out. I got a
new computer and tried uploading the programs onto my new computer. It
doesn't let me. It puts them into read only because I've already activated
the program on another computer.


I just refuse to believe I totally wasted like a 100 bucks on this program
only to be able to use it for like a month. Is there any way I can get to use
this program? I have a PowerPoint presentation to do and I can't do it.

I have moved Office 2000 from an old machine to a newer laptop and then a
further laptop and had no problems.

If you have purchased a legal copy, you can move it to your primary computer
as many times as you like as long as you are only using it on one machine.

You should call Microsoft support if you feel that it is an activation
problem but honestly - I think that it is something else.

as many times as you like as long as you are only using it on one machine.
