Using office xp & windows xp. If i want to open more than
one doc at a time in word, a new instance of word starts
for every document. How can I go back to word opening all
docs in the same copy of word.? I tried a search but could
not find this topic so I hope I am not repeating.

It's not a new instance, only a new window. Word only runs the once, and
with Windows XP, the documents are stacked in the Windows task bar - but if
you insist, the switch is at tools > options > view > windows in task bar.

Thank You Thank You Thank You. That was driving me crazy.
I work in multiple docs alot and having all those tool
bars taking up screen space was terrible.
I love this forum. you always have an answer for my
problem.
