"New Document" has existing default text entered by previous user

I am having trouble with my Word Application. The
previous user who has left the company imprinted a
document into Word so that anytime you launch Word or
click "new document" her document pops up as Document 1.
The only way to create a document is to erase what is
there. We can not figure out how to put Word back to the
way it should be. Help?!
