I just started using Outlook 2003 and I noticed something
strange. When I start Outlook, it automatically checks
for new email but it does not notify me if there is any
in my default inbox. No icon appears in the notification
bar. If new mail arrives in a subsequent send/receive
check, notification works. But it does not in the first
check done when I start the program. Strangely enough, it
does work for my IMAP account. I do have some rules set
up, but even messages that are not moved by the rule (ie.
go directly into the Inbox) do not prompt an alert on
startup.
Any ideas? It's annoying to have to manually check the
Inbox to see if anything new arrived.
