There is a lot of talk and rumors about it but there is nothing out there yet.

Office 12 (code name - release name not decided) will go into a public beta
next month. Release is planned for late 2006 but nothing is set in stone.

Soon? Depends on your interpretation of that word. MS is tentatively saying
last quarter of next year. To me, that's not soon.

Um, we _are_ talking Office now, right? No new bugs? With a new interface
and way of working?

How much money do you have on you? I have a certain bridge I am looking to
offload.

....

Sadly, at least in Excel, a few bugs will remain (confirmed in the Excel
manager's blog) in the next version. Microsoft must figure they're features
since they've been around so long.

Most recent upgrades have been 90% new interface elements, 10% new
functionality (the last major functionality change was in Access from 2000
to 2002). Office 12 appears to break the mold: 80% new interface, 20% new
functionality.

It's probably sooner than the date when it will actually appear, though.
