Newgroups after SP1

Since SP1 was installed I can no longer access Newgroups.
I tried to re-add the icon to the Go Menu, but it doesn't
exist! I had an item on the Menu-bar called News, but it
only opened up a directory called 1033. Did SP1 remove
newsgroup support?

I'm able to add "News" to my menu bar. Try resetting your menu/toolbars and
see if you can add it back. (or at the very least delete outcmd.dat while
outlook is closed.)

I tried both methods. News isn't on the Command list to
add! I get the feeling that somehow SP1 removed the
Newgroup Reader files. It's not only the list because the
program isn't there. I tried Detect & Repair also, without
any changes.

Microsoft Office/Outlook isn't prone to removing Outlook Express. Might
want to check the add/remove applet to see if OE is installed.

Strange, but I was able to fix it. First I had to choose
Outlook Express Newsreader as the Default and open it.
Once I opened it then News became an option to add to the
Outlook 2003 Go Menu. Really weird solution!
