Newsletter layout

Our (non-profit) organization sends out a monthly 8-page newsletter. Each
page is standard 8½ x 11. We create it in Publisher (2003) by the page, and
send it to the printer for printing and mailing. They actually print it on
2 sheets of 11 x 17 paper, folded in half. So literally, pages 1 & 2 and 7
& 8 are on the same sheet of paper. Now they tell us (with the new postage
requirements) that we could save a lot of postage costs by changing the
newsletter to the size of each page being 5½ x 8½, and adding an extra full
sheet of 8½ x 11 paper (thus giving us 4 extra newsletter pages). But I
can't figure out how to set that up in Publisher. Hope I'm making my
question clear.

8.5" x 11" landscape booklet will give you 4 pages of 8.5 x 5.5 content per
sheet of paper...is that what you mean?

I think so, except that with two 8.5 x 11 pages, we'd have 8 pages, but how
would we lay it out to read in the correct page order? In other words, on
that first landscape "page", it would actually be pages 2 and 7 on one side,
and pages 1 and 8 on the other side.

That's correct, when it's folded it will read correctly, or are you not
folding it?

Yes, it will be folded. After I last wrote, I went into Publisher, and
using Help, finally got my answer, I think. What I need is Booklet format,
and then Insert-Layout-Page in order to have an 8 or 12 page booklet.

Thanks!
