no contacts when writing an email.

I cant not seem to get my contacts up when writing an email. I try to write
the names in and i have tried to click the to and cc buttons but my contacts
do not show. i have tried to tick the box in the options part of my
contacts, but its is greyed out and wont let me tick it.

Please Help!
