No sound only with Office 2003 programs

I lost all sound thru my speakers but only with Office 2003 programs. All
other programs are fine. When I receive email, instead of the selected tone,
my CPU beeps. I have tried all the recommended troubleshooters to no avail.

Anybody have a similar problem? Any fixes?

Have you tried renaming the .wav sound and extracting another from your
Office CD? Have you tried rerunning the sounds.exe file to fix any possible
corruption?

Apparently my "sounds.exe" was deleted. I downloaded it from Microsoft and I
am back to work.
