No text in word art

When I select Word Art and type in the text, set the style etc., all I can see on the document is an empty blank box. If I click on Edit Text, the text appears as it was typed, but then clicking on OK, takes me back to the document with an empty box. does anyone have any iseas why this might be happening?

You've accidentally set the color to white on white?

Hi Jezebel, I thought of that, checked it was black, then tried other colours! Still no visable text.
