non-numbered pages

How can I add a front and back cover to a catalog without having them
become part of the page count. The master page for the inside pages
calls for page numbers. Whenever I add or subtract a page, the page
numbering changes.

I want the covers, inside and outside, to not count in numbering. Can
I do this?
